Hello Everyone,
Im back! I am committing to writing here every Sunday morning, I’ve let my website sit for far to long and it’s not fair to anyone because I have so much to share on the topic of health and healing.
My goal is to complete a book someday. I wanted to share my dedication so far. My book will be dedicated to all those individuals that didn’t let their suffering defeat them, instead they used their suffering to their advantage and turned it all around! This is not the correct wording yet, but you get the point! The reason I chose to dedicate my book to those who have suffered greatly – but didn’t let their suffering defeat them & used it to their advantage is because that is true strength. This world could use all the strength that it can get. So many people give up when the pain sets in, they listen to the recommendations of those who cannot help them learn to heal -and they give up.
I once suffered greatly, I was told that I would be on a lifetime of pain medication to manage the symptoms and the pain that I was experiencing . Had I listened, who knows how much worse off health wise that I would be at today. Instead, I used my diagnosis to dig deeper. I instinctively knew that I did not want to take pain medications for my entire life. That was a specialist that told me this hard hitting news. That was an ignorant specialist and people trust their most prized assets with these “specialists” their health! It was my suffering that gave me strength. It was my suffering that drove me to figure out what it was that I had to do to improve my own health – which is why I want to dedicate my book to those that suffer, yet they don’t let that suffering defeat them, they do something about it.
The individuals that approach me for consultations, or for guidance through their health issues are those who see something in me that the average person would not recognize. I am blessed to work alongside people that are willing to think outside of the box. Unfortunately, what generally ends up happening, and I understand this all to well is that they’ve tried every other avenue. They have been down the allopathic medical route, they’ve tried the Naturopath, they’ve tried acupuncture, herbs, vitamins, medications, machines, etc. yet they find themselves often becoming worse off health wise because none of these mentioned modalities address the root cause as to why they are sick. I try to help them discover the root cause of their suffering by going through their habits, routines, lifestyle choices in order to see what could possibly be holding them back. The truth as Arnold Ehret states is “simple and easy to understand” and that is entirely yours to discover when you take a step back to examine all aspects of your own life.
My past suffering led me down a long road to finally discover how to heal. I’ve been on this path for 8 years now, going on 9 years in April of this year. I made a lot of mistakes and took many wrong turns before I found out which turn to take that would lead me to less suffering and eventually none. I began writing so that I could help others avoid the costly mistakes that I made.
I moved out of the city of Vancouver over 13 years ago so that I could raise and grow my own food. I wanted to know exactly where all of my food was coming from and I wanted to ensure that it was of the highest quality – so we took up farming. This adventure was filled with hardship, realizations and great difficulty with little reward for my state of health.
I had read the book “Nourishing Traditions” by Sally Fallon and I was convinced that eating foods such as animal fat, butter, lard, raw milk, pasture raised chicken eggs, etc. was going to help me to improve my health. But the headaches kept coming, the pain in my body became increasingly worse as I downed a raw milk & egg shake daily combined with all the meats and cheeses from the farm. I knew where all of my food was coming from, and what went on behind my food, most people do not have this luxury – however, if you’re not supplying your body with the correct fuel, health will not be in the cards for you. I had to go through this. I had to learn just how unnatural it is to farm. I had to learn about the inputs and the outputs combined with the insane amount of work that it takes to learn that farming animals for their meats, milks and eggs is pure insanity! It’s not natural. No wonder the government subsidizes these products – because if consumers had to pay what these products really cost to produce, no one would be able to afford them and by default they would become healthier – only to get closer to the truth!!
Farming animals is not sustainable – there, I said it. You will always be sourcing outside inputs, and believe me, we tried the “Joel Salatin” methods, we were all about keeping things as natural and sustainable as possible. I don’t miss driving 3 hours each way to fill up our trailer with bulk organic feed- at all. But like I mentioned, I had to go through this experience in order to move past it entirely. When I discovered how unhealthy animal products and meats are for human health, I wasn’t the one to hang on, or feel as if I was missing out, I let those foods go with no problem whatsoever because I had experienced enough to know that it’s insanity to rely on murdering living animals for our health. I wasn’t that person that had to transition away from the animal products through eating faux vegan burgers, or imitating the foods I had left behind, I was more than happy to focus on the foods that would bring my body back into a state of health because I was tired of feeling sick, I was tired of my life passing me by as I lay there with a headache again. Letting go of meat, eggs, dairy was one of the best decisions that I have ever made in my life – next to leaving the city and a few other signature life events.
True health is finally found, and built, out of great suffering for most people who achieve it.
I’ve noticed that it is generally those individuals who hit rock bottom and have finally had enough that end up succeeding. At the age of 35, over 8 years ago, I was feeling like I was far beyond my age because I always had something wrong with me. When I complete my book, I will share my discoveries and experiences in hopes that it will help others along their path.
Soon I will write more about the content of the book because this isn’t going to be just an ordinary book! I’ve got some amazing discoveries to share, discoveries that I’ve made lately in the world of health and healing when I decided recently to change my diet up and try something that so many would likely be shocked to discover that I tried. I wanted to give this food experiment 100 days so that I could speak on it from experience for two reasons, one was that I was continually getting messages about this particular way of eating and two, I needed to find out for myself, the information was compelling and made sense – sort of. Ill explain more later on, but for now it’s time to get this Sunday morning started!
I am back to eating Mucusless, I even let go of all fats from my diet. I haven’t had an avocado, tahini, coconut, etc. in over 80 day’s and to be honest, I do not think that I will be reincorporating them back into my diet. Fats slow digestion, they also create a bit of mucus in the body and must be eaten sparingly for healing and health purposes if eaten at all. I know a lot of people would disagree, however, I’ve learned these truths for myself through self experimentation and I believe that Arnold Ehret, Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Morse and so many others are correct about fats not being health promoting substances. Now I am not saying to never eat fats if you like them, however, for health and healing purposes or for detoxification, it is optimal to leave fats out of the diet entirely in my opinion. I could share more information about fats, or you could dig deeper and do a little research yourself.
The reason I am into self experimentation is because the topic of fats and other topics can be mighty confusing. We must discover for ourselves because we can dig up a study to back up any which way we would like to think. We have Dr. Robert Young who is close to the truth in my opinion when it comes to health and diet – but he believes that we need fats such as processed oils and avocado’s for health.
Then we have Dr. John McDougall who teaches that the “fat you eat is the fat you wear” and that it serves no purpose in the human body. So who do you believe? You must experiment on yourself for ultimate verification!! I have, and I feel that fats are unhealthy. I will note that when I was visiting Mexico for a month, I found that eating fats in the climate they grew in had a different effect on my body. Over here in Canada, we must eat imported fats because most fats originate in tropical countries. This is another topic that maybe Ill address next week, eating the foods that are grown in your climate – the mucusless foods, the foods from the fruit, leafy green and vegetable kingdom of course are the foods that I feel will build health. This is what I’ve been focussing on more lately, I want to eat the foods from here, I think it makes a world of sense and now I have my next topic to think & write on for next Sunday!! Thanks for listening, I appreciate all feedback and I wish everyone who desires health to figure out how to build health. Health, or disease build slowly within. Building health takes time and dedication in today’s world and for anyone who is on this path, stay strong because the world needs strong people at this time.
Take care
