I wrote a post similar to this one that I am sharing long ago, except It was titled “pre-detoxification letter”.  That was long before I learned that we shouldn’t approach healing through the lens of “detoxification “ because healing is not something that we DO to our body, our body will clean itself out WHEN we supply the body with the correct conditions to do so in it’s own time of course.  

Your greatest obstacle on the road to health and healing, (believe it or not) will often be your family, friends & acquaintances.  They do not mean to make life more difficult for you, they are genuinely well intentioned, and often concerned, however, without the correct information, it’s easy to dish out harmful advice.  As the saying goes, “The highway to Hell is often paved with good intentions”.

Below is a letter that I wrote, that I feel may come in handy, and if for nothing else, maybe a good chuckle? You’re free to use it in anyway you please, you can even alter to suit your current individual circumstances.

There is nothing more demotivating than someone else (especially someone that you care about) causing you to second guess your healthy path, while they attempt to convince you to return to your past dietary/lifestyle habits.

Health Is My Priority –  LETTER 

Dear: ________

As you may have realized, I’ve struggled with health issues & symptoms over the years.   

Ive decided to go after my health, I’ve learned a lot surrounding the diet / disease / lifestyle connection and I’m in the process of creating new healthier habits to build my health back.  At times, you may find my choices conflicting with your personal dietary views.  That is ok. 

This letter is to inform, & to explain to you, about the stages that I will likely be going through, and I’m hoping that this letter can help to remove any presumptions, assumptions & fears that may arise within you surrounding my choices.

Im just putting this out there now, but by my choices to eat only from the foods that the human species was designed to eat, I may appear crazy to you – seeing how it’s the opposite to what most people are taught on the topic of health/healing, believe & do.  You may begin to wonder why I am avoiding high protein foods for example because we are all taught that they are necessary, and the foundation for a healthy diet.  I assure you, the overconsumption of high protein foods are part of the reason why humans suffer to such a great degree.  

I have not developed an eating disorder, even though you may perceive it as so initially, because throughout this process of building my health back, there will be plenty of ups & downs and many foods that I choose to no longer eat.

Please, do not take anything personally, especially if I am avoiding the foods we once shared together.  I am hoping that you will see my journey here as an opportunity for us to share new, and healthier foods, together! 

As my body goes through the healing process (I’m warning you now) I will likely be going through a long process of transformation.  

Yes, I may become skinny for sometime, & even perceived as “malnourished looking” as we move forward.  You will likely witness changes in my appearance, moods, & even my personality as I continue this lifestyle, but please do not worry, I assure you, it’s all part of the healing process.  

I may even become sick with cold & flu like symptoms, or other seemingly concerning symptoms, however, I assure You, this it is a normal part of the healing process.  When the body is healing, symptoms, pain, issues can often become worse before they improve. We must eliminate our internal filth from within, to improve our health. In reality, when the body becomes sick (elimination), that IS the healing process occurring, and I’ll likely be going through these periods without taking any harmful medications, substances, herbs, supplements, bone broth, vitamins, colloidal silver, therapies, treatments, etc. So, please do not worry.  

As time passes, and as I continue to nourish and support my body with the correct foods, combined with the incorporation of other health promoting lifestyle routines, a healthy weight will return, and you will no longer have to worry, or question my choices.

So please, hang in there with me.  Nature works slowly, there are no quick fixes when it comes down to health and healing, and my choices may only appear “radical” because we were not taught the correct information on how to properly feed and nourish ourselves from the beginning.  This is part of the reason why humans are suffering so greatly with disease issues.

Know that I love you, and everything will work out, all that I am asking for is your trust and support.  Restoring my health, and healing my health issues could take months/years, and that is expected, and okay because it is simply part of the process.  

Feel free to ask me anything that comes to mind, and know that I am not in anyway pushing my diet / lifestyle on you, we are all free to do as we choose, I just felt that if I explained myself, it would make things easier on both of us.
