Three meals a day has been normalized & taught as part of a healthy lifestyle… It is not uncommon to eat a large breakfast, a moderate sized lunch and a large dinner with snacks in-between meals. I feel three meals a day maybe beneficial for commercial reasons rather than health reasons.
Our bodies benefit with regular digestive rest (another term for this is intermittent fasting), when the body is freed from digestion, it begins to heal…most people are in a constant state of digestion as the average meal takes hours / days to digest, and the next meal is introduced before the previous meal digested & eliminated – depending on what the meal was.
if we supply our digestive system with a break, it often becomes uncomfortable for those that have obstructions & internal toxins (encumbrances), this is common & often why people feel as if they must eat…
when we introduce food, the body will top eliminating toxins & healing, & will return to the task of digestion which suppresses the elimination & makes the individual feel much better…
Detoxification can feel uncomfortable at times as the past pharmaceuticals, toxins, acids & mucus from years of wrong foods are exposed & eliminated…
I feel many individuals eat too frequently because of the above-mentioned reasons, coupled with habits & traditions…
I skip breakfast to allow my digestive system prolonged rest from the night before… I always begin each day with fruits or freshly made fruit juices and if I do eat a meal, I always wait until it is completely digested before introducing another…I began this journey with eating 2 meals per day with a snack. These days I am at one meal per day.
There are days that I just graze, only eating when hungry …I’ve realized, just because it’s habit or tradition, does not mean it is correct or healthy. Less is more when it comes to diet and “Not eating is also a part of a healthy diet”!
