Focus on Diet
Our diet affects our genes and how they express themselves. Our diet affects whether we accumulate acids/wastes within, which over time they damage, and eventually destroy healthy organ and gland function.
Believe it or not, congestion and acidosis is the root cause of all diseases.
We do not need separate disease names for the expression of symptoms in localized areas of the body, what we do need is an understanding of why disease develops, and how to bring our body back into health.
Our diet dictates whether we eliminate our acid/ waste accumulations, or whether we hold on to them. Acid accumulations cause stiffness, dryness, inflammation, pain, irritation, etc. If we are continually in digestion mode, always eating complex foods, the body will have a difficult time with eliminating the toxicity loads.
Our Diet is number #1…
There are other factors that contribute to the overall health of an individual, however, if the diet is complex and incorrect, all other health promoting practices will not benefit the individual in the way that they could if the diet was health promoting.
For example:
if an individual is suffering with kidney / adrenal weakness and continues to engage in strenuous workouts, this can be very taxing on an already weakened system, stirring up additional acids which can overburden weakened kidneys. The kidneys are part of our elimination system and they help to regulate the blood and body fluids. When our kidneys are overburdened, it becomes difficult for them to eliminate built up metabolic and toxic wastes which can cause further issues when these wastes are not eliminated in a timely manner. The kidney’s are sensitive to acidosis from foods such as dairy, meats, coffee, high protein foods, soda drinks, etc. I can’t tell you how many individuals that speak to me about mid to lower back pain causing them extreme discomfort and pain in their lives. Their doctors always suggest pain medications and if only they knew that this excruciating pain is generally the Kidneys sending messages to change ones dietary ways. Knee pain is another indication of Kidney weakness. If you experience unexplained knee, or lower back pain- and you didn’t physically injure your knee or your back, you can almost be certain that you are dealing with kidney weakness and in turn, adrenal weakness as the adrenals sit on top of the kidney’s.
Exercise is still extremely important no matter what,
we need to engage in movement to avoid stagnation, however, we must. be realistic with our current state of health and adjust accordingly. We do not want to engage in strenuous workouts when one is dealing with kidney and adrenal weakness, otherwise we are just stirring up acids which the body cannot effectively eliminate which can create additional issues in the long run. To these individuals, walking, swimming or light stretching (gentle yoga) is often the best form of exercise to engage in.
Another health promoting practice is sunbathing, or sunlight exposure. Sunlight is highly beneficial, however, if an individual is very acidic, the sunshine will likely burn the individual. Here is a quote from the book titled “The Sun Cure”
“Sunlight dominates the chemistry of the blood. People who do not get sunlight do not have the same richness and redness of blood as do those who secure plenty of sunlight. It is not merely that their skins are etiolated (pale & white), but one may appropriately say that their blood and inner tissues are also pale. There is not a tissue nor a function of the body that is not benefited by the regular judicious sunbathing”. – The Sun Cure
Another health promoting practice is “Earthing”, this involves touching the earth with our skin. similar to our relationship with the sun, we also have a symbiotic relationship with the earth itself and it’s optimal when we are in a state of health. The sun is acidic, and in combination with an alkaline body, the sunlight has a profound positive effect on the body. If the body is acidic, the sun can have a negative effect in the form of a sunburn. Earthing is highly beneficial, however, if one is highly toxic/acidic, touching the ground barefoot can cause nauseousness and a feeling of overall sickness. These are all messages from Nature. Here’s a quote that expresses what I am sharing here.
“Earthing restores your body’s natural internal electrical stability and rhythms…It shifts the nervous system from a stress-dominated mode to one of calmness”. – Clint Ober
If our diet is correct, the healing and health promoting practices that I mentioned above will have profound effects on the body, more so in comparison than to an individual who is not in a good state of health. I’m not saying that if you are not in good health that you should not engage in earthing or sunlight exposure, just be mindful not to overdo it. Please, focus on diet first and foremost, we truly are what we eat. That which we choose to ingest builds who we are from the inside out and should not be underestimated.
And one last point,
I hear so often from people that they do not like to eat fruit. They say that they do not crave healthy food at all, so how are they going to get healthy? Nothing happens overnight. The cleaner we become within, the more we begin to crave the health promoting foods. We must take things slowly in order to create new health promoting habits that will last a lifetime.
A slow transition is key.
Begin with incorporating a fruit smoothie, or a freshly made juice into the diet in the morning. Overtime, as this becomes habit, you will notice that your tastes will begin to change. We are designed for fruits, therefore, the body will begin to crave them if we take the first step with incorporating them into our daily routine. The cleaner we become within, the more we crave the foods that promote health within. When someone asks me where to start, I always suggest to begin with incorporating fruit, a smoothie, or a salad into the diet. As we continue on, a gradual change within will occur. It all begins and ends with you.
I will end this post with a quote that I came across today. As we continue to deal with toxic individuals making toxic decisions for the whole, I feel that it is very fitting.
“There can be only one permanent revolution – a moral one; the regeneration of the inner man. How is this revolution to take place? Nobody knows how it will take place in humanity, but every man feels it clearly in himself. And yet in our world everybody thinks of changing humanity, and nobody thinks of changing himself “. Leo Tolstoy
We must be that change that we wish to see. It begins with self. Bring oneself into health and everything else will fall into place!!
