Throughout our lives have been programmed to believe that 3 meals a day is health promoting for our body… this is a fallacy… the digestive system benefits from periodic digestive rests in order to free up energy so the body can heal… if the body is digesting, it’s not healing, it can only work on one major task at a time… 3 meals a day is great for industry and for profit, but not so great for the everyday health of people. When I first discovered this information I found it so freeing & it made perfect sense. It always seemed a little much to eat a meal every few hours because often, one meal had not digested entirely before the next one was introduced. Did you know that some people actually go an entire lifetime in digestion mode without ever obtaining that much needed digestive rest – unless they are too sick to eat, or sleeping? Bottom line, 3 meals a day is not health promoting for anyone and it is an extremely damaging & unhealthy habit to engage in day in and day out… Less is more! These day’s I am into one meal a day with light snacks & my health has improved from cutting down on meals.
